Netball Coaching

The Netball Coaching Abroad Project took off in January 2012 at the same time as the Football Coaching Project. Netball has been played in Sri Lanka since 1921, and in 1972 the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka was created. The Netball Coaching Project takes place in the Youth Centre and in schools and is generally led by 2-4 volunteers.

What do coaching sessions consist of?

After stretching and warming up, the volunteers run drills with the netball team. These can vary including basic ball skills and attacking and defense drills. Most of the sessions end with a 30 minute game.
